What started as a casual WhatsApp group has grown into a thriving community of over 2000 women across the UAE who come together not just to play, but to laugh, learn, and make lifelong friendships on and off the course.

The women behind Chicks With Sticks
Jenny
Jenny is the founder of Chicks With Sticks and a lifelong lover of the game. Raised in a golfing family on Ireland’s West Coast, Jenny first picked up a club at just twelve years old and spent her summers falling in love with golf on the fairways of Lahinch Golf Club, a place that still holds her heart.
Louise
One of the OG Chicks, Lou’s first-ever experience of golf was joining a Chicks With Sticks lesson back in 2021 with absolutely no idea what she was doing. What started as trying something new quickly turned into a genuine love of the game, and she credits CwS, and the friendships she’s made through it, with getting her completely hooked on golf.
A few years later, Lou went from being part of the community to playing a key role in running and growing CwS in the UAE. As the Deputy Director of a corporate training and consulting firm, she brings her experience in operations, business development and marketing to CwS, working across everything from lessons and events, to partnerships, brand development and shaping how the community continues to grow.
Juggling her day job with CwS and an ever-growing amount of golf keeps her pretty busy. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her at one of the CwS venues, or out on the course slowly trying to chip away at that handicap!
What started with one CwS lesson has turned into a huge part of Lou’s life, both on and off the course, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Maya
Golf has always been part of Maya’s life. Growing up in Dubai in a golfing family, she picked up her first club at eight - although a few years in the UK confirmed she’s definitely a fair-weather golfer!
Family holidays often revolved around golf, with a highlight being a trip to Augusta in 2019 to watch Tiger’s incredible Masters comeback. Her love of the game even took her inside the ropes at the Dubai Desert Classic on her home course, where she had the small task of keeping score for the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods!
A primary school teacher by day, Maya joined CwS in January 2022 to meet new people and ended up finding some of her closest friends. She now brings her creativity and organisation to the CwS team - while still working on getting that handicap down!
